At least you're consistent although I think this is ridiculous. Mut'ah is clearly unethical and wrong, to be able to have a temporary marriage. It would be possible for a modern sex worker to essentially have a temporary marriage every week for the mahr price. I think it opens up the door to so much exploitation and goes against the Quranic objective of protecting women.
The same thing with khimar & hijab. The whole idea is to stop objectification and not center women's beauty in public discourse. If women are walking around with their hair and beauty exposed, we know that they immediately become objectified and public discourse shifts to the female figure. This is bad for men obviously as their personhood is diminished and we know what the rates of sexual harassment are in the US for example (2/3rd of all women by 18).
This ultimately leads to both hypersexualization and involuntary celibacy for many men, as the focus of societal growth becomes the pursuit of sex and a few men accumulate most of the resources at the expense of others.
Every civilization, as they became more advanced, developed more sophisticated ideas around modesty and covering. I don't see how we, as Muslims, want to move backwards.
By the way there's also no clear Quranic evidence on exactly what else a woman can over. So, so long as she covers her chest, can she wear short shorts?
There's no Quranic evidence about what a man can wear. Can Muslim men walk around nude?
Where does this stop logically speaking?
