You're opening old wounds here. I could understand that but when several screens are being used to show something like the latest Sonic even on off hours it just doesn't make sense to me.

Didn't even know they had this elsewhere
Just means they'll lose my movie going to AMC or Cinema Arts 🤷♂️

Abstract seems very interesting. I think the missing piece here is tying the gradient of Islamic hermeneutics to a wider theory of cognitive biases and multiple-intelligences. There seems to certainly be an multi-dimenstional…

I have to assume you just aren't familiar with ibn Taymiyyah or his corpus of works.
Majmu' al-Fatawa is a compilation of the known works of ibn Taymiyyah at the time of compilation in the early 20th century. Since then, other works have been discovered. Dating them is exceedingly difficult. He was a prolific writer penning tens of thousands of pages over the course of his life and his collected works were not compiled for nearly an eon after his death. We are still discovering works of his (such as Masala Huduth al Alam only a few years ago).
The issue of ibn Taymiyyah's view on Fanā al-Nār is endlessly debated online especially in Arabic, but even in English. Some Taymiyyans argue that he was simply steelmaning the argument of the Jahmites, others say that he mistakenly held this view due to a narration from Umar b. Al-Khattab and a litany of linguistic arguments, a very small minority take this as the correct view (Jonathan Brown mentioned it in an article).
It's worth noting that ibn al-Qayyim (his primary student) mentions these arguments in some places without rebutting them and elsewhere repudiates them. The grand-student of ibn Taymiyyah, ibn Abi al-Izz, was put on trial for a variety of views including this one (he did hold fana al-nar).
At minimum, ibn Taymiyyah was sympathetic to this view and taught it to his students in some capacity.
He uses the fact that khulūd is not usually coupled with abadīyya when referring to Jahannam unlike with Jannah. You don't find many direct references to khālidīna fīhā abada referring to Jahannam unlike Jannah, just khālidīna fīhā. To ibn Taymiyyah that subtle difference is telling.
I don't know what their objection to this could be

From an Islamic perspective or a sociological one?
Islamically because Allāh ﷻ created men to be qawwām and imām while women are created to follow.
Sociologically because women are physically weaker, smaller, and less intelligent (overall, not on a case by case basis) the risks of deviating from the group are higher. Additionally, since women carry the biological burden of offspring directly, they are in a higher risk category. Therefore, a woman resisting social pressure carries much more danger than a man and she is less equipped to deal with it.
Men are less likely to conform. This means they're more likely to be violent, commit crimes, be independent, challenge the group, fight for hierarchy, win or lose.
