I passed Linux!

r/CompTIA · September 18, 2021

**Score:** 747, 720 is required to pass

**Resources**: I primarily utilized The Official CompTIA ® Linux+ ® Student Guide (Exam XK0-004) and a Linux mint boot. I did a few practice questions online and some labs, but not enough to mention. In that book there are activities at the end of each section to test what you learned, highly useful.

**Difficulty**: Definitely the hardest CompTIA exam I have taken yet, very few abstractions or simple knowledge questions, a lot of command-line. If you cannot read command line and know the basic commands, the paths for files, etc., you cannot pass. I honestly thought I failed and was pretty dejected when I went to hit submit. I was so elated, thank God, that I had passed!

**Study Time:** I have two years of casual experience and tinkering with Linux. I took about a week to study, but especially the last three days. The day before I read 400 pages out of the textbook (please don't do this to yourself), and studied up to the last minute.

**Next Steps:** I am planning to go for the AWS Associate Cloud Architect as I got the AWS CCP two weeks ago. After that I may attempt the CEH.
