Personal Modem Not Working
I had an ASUS router that I was using with Verizon without issue, great service. I ended up having to move back with my mom. I tried to activate the ASUS router on Fios, not realizing that Fios requires a modem on the approved list with a coaxial cable (this Asus only has CAT ports). After trying with customer service for about 3 hours, I gave up and tried to reconnect the ARRIS modem/router that was working (albeit shoddily) with Fios.
When I reconnected the ARRIS modem/router, with the same cables, in the same ports - the internet would not work. For some reason, the modem is now unrecognized by Comcast. I have tried to add it to the app, but I get the "Please Hold Tight" 11 minutes infinite loop.
I now no longer have access to the internet. Nothing changed with this modem/router, I just unplugged it and plugged the other one into the wall with the CAT cable. Now that everything is just as it was, somehow Comcast seems not to recognize it, and I can't add it.
I did a reset of the ARRIS to factory settings and have tried re-adding it to no avail. I am considering just cancelling Comcast and having this household switch to Verizon, who can actually accommodate my ASUS router.
