There are many studies regarding the impacts of social isolation or being single. I think it's borderline delusional not to realize that one of the most important things for a person's emotional and psychological well-being is a healthy romantic relationship. If a person is happy, stable, and emotionally developed without a life partner - then what on earth do they need the life partner for?

The Qur'an clearly indicates that the fundamental human relationship is between a man and his wife (Adam & Hawa). Furthermore, Allah delineates that He created everything in pairs and the entire Din of Islam is al-Sirat al-Mustaqim (the straight Way), a Way which is balanced.
